If you have ever wandered through a local market and spotted a stall bursting with bold colours, intricate patterns and beautiful scents, chances are you have already discovered Hannelore Storm. With every design as engaging as it is eye‑catching, it is a stall that is almost impossible to miss.
Originally from Vienna, Austria, Hannelore began making soap while still living in Europe after a friend encouraged her to give it a try. What started as a hobby soon became a creative passion. Over time, she noticed that while there were other soap makers, none were producing pieces quite like hers, with the same vibrant colours and artistic flair.
What really drew Hannelore to soap making was the artistic side of the process. Beyond developing formulas and recipes, she loved experimenting with colour, pattern and design. When she moved to Australia in 2013, she brought her craft with her, continuing to refine her style and explore new ideas. By 2015, friends were regularly asking to buy her handmade soaps, impressed by both their appearance and quality. With growing demand and plenty of encouragement, Hannelore Storm was officially established.
Since launching the business, Hannelore has continued to expand her range well beyond soaps. Today, her collection includes bath bombs, liquid soap, bath soaks, body butters, lip balms, emulsified scrubs, wax melts and candles, all created with the same attention to detail and love of colour. She is supported by her now retired teacher husband, Mark, who helps out at markets and serves as her trusted tester, particularly when it comes to men’s scents.
As someone with dry and sensitive skin who cannot use many commercially made soaps, Hannelore is passionate about creating products suitable for people with similar skin types. She ensures all fragrances are phthalate free, none of the ingredients are ever tested on animals, and her bath bombs are nut oil free to help eliminate a common allergen.
Inspired by artists and colour theory, Hannelore’s signature style celebrates bright, vivid designs that bring a sense of joy and creativity to everyday routines. Her aim is to offer affordable luxury that is also fun, making her products ideal for gifting, particularly in the lead‑up to Mother’s Day.
A selection of Hannelore Storm products can be found at the Mildura Visitor Information Centre, with regular appearances at the Sunraysia Farmers & Makers Market, Red Cliffs Country Market, and a range of other markets throughout the region. Market dates can be found on What’s On.
