A colourful tale for kids
Meet the brilliant minds weaving magic into children’s literature: Rachelle Anne Senior, a dedicated primary school teacher whose passion for storytelling shines through every page, and Becky Smith, an accomplished artist and illustrator whose vibrant visuals bring the imaginative world of the Jellybean People to life. Together, they form the dynamic creative force behind the enchanting local children’s book, “The Jellybean People: A Sparkly Adventure of Wonder and Light.”
Their collaborative journey began with a shared connection to the Mildura’s Bi-Lingual Children’s Story book project, launched in September 2024. Both Becky and Rachelle independently contributed to different books within this project, an initiative by the Mildura Rural City Council in partnership with various community groups to develop children’s books in both English and other community languages common to the Mildura region. This is how their paths crossed, marking the inception of Rachelle’s journey as a children’s book publisher.
Rachelle and Becky’s enchanting rhyming book invites readers to step into a world where magic shimmers on every page. This vibrant journey through mystical woods introduces unique, iridescent characters overflowing with adventure and awe. Prepare to encounter charming fairies and surprising animals as you delve into their captivating world.
Beyond the captivating narrative, this beautifully illustrated book carries a profound philosophical message. Its core purpose is to ignite within every child the profound understanding that their true magic resides inherently within them. It’s an empowering invitation for them to always return to that safe, inner sanctuary and to forever cherish the brilliant spark of their own inner light and the sheer awe about life and living.
You can find Rochelle and Becky’s wonderful, illustrated book locally at the Mildura Visitor Information Centre’s gift shop and at the Mildura Riverfront Art Gallery. It’s also available through online bookstores.
