Discover the Lights
From Stillness to Symphony - Two nights, two landscapes, one luminous journey of art and nature.
Some journeys stay with you. This is one of them.
Trail of Lights and Fibre Optic Symphonic Orchestra are two distinct large-scale installations by British-Australian artist Bruce Munro — the internationally celebrated artist behind Field of Light at Uluru. Now celebrating its 10th year, Field of Light has captivated more than one million visitors. Trail of Lights and FOSO build on this legacy of immersive, large-scale light art, offering visitors a sensory journey across two of Australia’s most remarkable landscapes.
At Lock Island in Mildura, Trail of Lights invites you into stillness. A contemplative after-dark walk where 12,500 firefly lights and Munro’s iconic Gone Fishing sculptures illuminate the natural landscape of the Murray River.
At Perry Sandhills in Wentworth, Fibre Optic Symphonic Orchestra builds to something altogether different. Eighty Hills Hoist clotheslines arranged like an orchestra pit pulse with colour in time with an original score by Emmy Award-winning composer Nainita Desai. As the music builds, the light responds around you.
Two nights, two landscapes, one luminous journey of art and nature. It’s an experience you won’t find anywhere else in Australia.
