We’re thrilled to showcase the best of our region with Mildura and Ouyen both nominated in this year’s Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards. With Mildura vying for the top honour and Ouyen proudly representing as Tiny Tourism Town, it’s a big moment for our region. Mildura
Let’s be honest – our river city is a destination for the lads. Mildura turns up the heat with river cruising, drag races, early start bakeries and dinners that don’t mess around. Days are spent on the Murray, fairways or wheels, nights wherever the cold beers and good feeds take you. There’s competition, adventure and just enough planning to keep things easy. If you’re heading north-west with mates and want a getaway that pulls its weight, Mildura locks it in.
Ouyen
Before you’ve even switched off the engine, Ouyen begins to work its magic. The wide-open Mallee landscape slows everything down, and the town meets you with an ease that feels instantly familiar. It’s the people who give Ouyen its heart – locals proud of their place, sharing it through good food, creative touches, lived in stories and the land they know so well. From lakeside wandering to National Park adventures and quiet discoveries through town, Ouyen offers a deeply rewarding mix of connection, culture and calm.
